Role Overview:
The Instructional Designer will develop instructional programs and training materials aligned with organizational goals for a state government accounting office. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts and stakeholders to design engaging, accessible, and effective learning experiences across multiple delivery formats.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Training Needs Assessments and Audience Analyses to identify learning objectives, performance gaps, and delivery channels
Design and develop 508-compliant instructional materials including course outlines, storyboards, video scripts, job aids, and quick reference sheets
Create multi-format training content: eLearning courses, microlearning, instructor-led (virtual and in-person), and printable job aids
Develop SCORM-compliant webinars and full-length eLearning courses using authoring tools
Build and administer assessments (quizzes, simulations, practical exercises); analyze data to improve learning outcomes
Track and document project progress using project management tools; provide regular stakeholder updates
Collaborate with SMEs, leadership, and learners to ensure content accuracy and alignment with organizational objectives
Periodically review and update existing curriculum to maintain relevancy and compliance with industry standards
Required Skills & Experience:
3 5 years of experience in Instructional Design, Education, Training & Development, or related field
3+ years of experience with large-scale ERP transition to Workday solution
3+ years of expertise in designing comprehensive instructional materials
Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools: Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia
Experience with instructional design methodologies: ADDIE, SAM, Kirkpatrick's Model
SCORM-compliant course development and LMS experience
Strong understanding of 508-compliance requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Preferred Skills:
Proficiency in Workday LMS for training delivery, tracking, and reporting
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
Knowledge of gamification techniques for learner engagement
Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field
Additional Details:
Standard business hours, 8 hours/day, Monday Friday. Hybrid schedule with preferred onsite presence on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Atlanta, GA office. Out-of-state candidates may work 100% remotely.
