This is a remote position.
Position Summary
The Instructional Designer creates engaging and effective learning experiences for employees, students, clients, and other audiences. This position develops courses, training programs, digital learning materials, assessments, and instructional resources based on defined learning objectives and organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Design instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced learning experiences.
* Develop course structures, learning objectives, activities, assessments, and supporting materials.
* Convert subject-matter expertise into organized and engaging instructional content.
* Collaborate with subject-matter experts to develop accurate training materials.
* Create e-learning modules, presentations, instructional videos, quizzes, and learning resources.
* Apply instructional design principles to improve learner engagement and knowledge retention.
* Review existing courses and recommend improvements to content and delivery methods.
* Develop assessments to measure learner understanding and course effectiveness.
* Work with learning-management systems and digital training platforms.
* Conduct research to support course development and instructional decisions.
* Evaluate training outcomes and incorporate feedback into future course revisions.
* Ensure learning materials are accessible, organized, accurate, and appropriate for the intended audience.
* Manage multiple instructional-development projects while meeting established deadlines.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, Communications, or a related field.
* Experience developing instructional or training content.
* Understanding of adult-learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
* Strong writing, presentation, research, and communication skills.
* Ability to transform complex subject matter into clear learning experiences.
* Familiarity with digital learning platforms and common content-development tools.
* Strong organizational and project-management abilities.
* Ability to work independently and collaborate with remote teams.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, or comparable e-learning software.
* Experience working with learning-management systems.
* Knowledge of accessibility standards for digital learning.
* Experience developing corporate, healthcare, technology, education, or compliance training.
* Familiarity with instructional design models such as ADDIE or similar frameworks.
