    Job Description

The Instructional Designer I supports the creation and maintenance of training materials, job aids, and documentation that support the product development of standard training programs for the NCM Institute. Working within NCM’s Content team, this role focuses on developing clear, practical content in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and facilitators, emphasizing structure, consistency, and accessibility over training material and multimedia production.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with SMEs and facilitators to collect and organize content for training sessions, documentation, and on-the-job support materials.
    • Develop and maintain job aids, quick reference guides, SOPs, and training support documents in alignment with performance goals.
    • Upload, version, and manage content in the Learning Content Management System (Xyleme) using established content development standards and metadata taxonomy.
    • Apply formatting, accessibility, and branding guidelines to ensure clarity and usability.
    • Complete full ADDIE cycle for development of standardized training programs.
    • Revise existing training content with instructional design standards.
    • Collaborate with operational staff to ensure training set-up and facilitation success.
    • Track content progress, updates, and distribution for training rollouts.
    • Support the preparation and delivery of instructor-led or virtual sessions by creating supporting materials and guides.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 0–2 years of experience developing training materials, instructional content, or documentation.
    • 1-2 years of experience completing full ADDIE project lifecycle of program development.
    • Instructional Design Certificate, preferred.
    • Understanding of adult learning principles and structured content development.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with LMS or LCMS tools.
    • Strong writing, editing, and organization skills.
    • Collaborative approach and attention to detail.
