Pay Rate: $55 - $70 per hour, W2

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop instructor-led and on-the-job training for apprenticeships in the Power Generation utility industry.
  • Develop learning materials for technical content, including hands-on practice activities, student guides, facilitator guides, scenarios, videos, assessments, simulations, and other instructional media.
  • Perform a detailed task analysis for each job function, business process, or system for which training will be developed.
  • Define learning objectives and course structure aligned to stakeholder needs and to meet the constraints of the learning environment.
  • Work under the direction of the Senior Instructional Designer to apply company standards, guidelines, and templates.
  • Participate in milestone meetings with subject matter experts, including task analysis, alpha, beta, train the trainer, and pilot.
  • Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation.
  • Available during office hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (PST) Monday - Friday.


Requirements:

  • 3 years experience developing instructor-led training for technical skills, such as electrical utilities or related industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design or education-related areas of study.
  • Skilled in instructional design methodologies and technical writing.
  • Experienced in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables on time.
  • Work closely with team and subject matter experts to proactively communicate concerns, issues, and risks.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in hydroelectric operations, general construction, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Master's degree in instructional design or education-related areas of study.
  • Experience with QuestionMark, Author-It, and/or Articulate 360.
  • Skilled in graphic design.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Previous company Academy experience.
