RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a suitable environment for study, research, and reading. Help promote literacy by providing book suggestions, creating and maintaining displays, or assisting with special events. Create and maintain a regular schedule of class visits, in consultation with the librarian and classroom teachers. Accomplish library and technology-related tasks in a timely manner. Participate in technology training throughout the school year. Serve as building technologist, which includes maintaining a record of service, working with the online work order system, and PC Support and Electronics departments. Maintain and update devices. Maintain supplies for and troubleshoot printers. Shelve books in the appropriate location using the library's organizational system. Supervise students in the library setting. Assist students and staff in locating library resources when appropriate. Circulate materials according to library policies set by the media specialist (number of materials, overdues, etc.) Operate the circulation desk, which includes checking materials in and out, running reports, and checking incoming materials for damage. Repair damaged library materials. Conduct annual library and equipment inventory. Assist and work with the media specialist in the processing of new library and technology items. Assist and work with the media specialist in weeding and discarding library and technology items. Provide support for the building during computerized or online assessments. Other duties as assigned by Librarian, Instructional Technology Coordinator, Supervisor of Computer Support/Electronics, and Principal.
