JOB GOALS: Provide leadership to increase student learning and achievement by cooperating with principals, professional staff, paraprofessional staff and central office administrators in the areas of:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Wisconsin Teacher Certification to teach one or more of the grade levels and content areas grades 6-12.
Five years of classroom teaching experience.
Expertise in one or more of the core academic content areas: reading, language arts, mathematics, science or social studies.
Expertise in research based "best" instructional practices in one or more of the core content areas (reading, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies).
Expertise in strategies for differentiating classroom instruction in the regular classroom to meet the diverse learning needs of all students including students designated GT, ELL and Special Education.
Expertise in curriculum design, development, and implementation.
Expertise in the identification of and education of students identified as gifted and/or talented.
Successful experience meeting the educational needs of students identified as GT.
Expertise in the strategies, processes, implementation and facilitation of educator professional development.
Strong communication skills and effective leadership skills in working collaboratively and effectively with other professionals.
Experience providing educational leadership.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Curriculum Development
Provide curriculum and instructional leadership, coordination, and support in all content areas
Lead and support the implementation of curriculum and instruction tailored to the needs of identified GT students
Maintain consistency and alignment of K-12 academic standards and grade level benchmarks
Lead necessary changes to programs based on data-driven improvement plans and goal setting
Work collaboratively with department chairs and teachers to coordinate the adoption of instructional materials Instruction and Delivery
Research and facilitate the implementation of innovative subject-specific programs, effective instructional practices, and technology
Collaborate with professional staff to identify and meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of GT students
Collaborate with professional staff to meet the needs of all students through differentiation
Support staff and students through professional and core teams
Plan and implement ongoing, meaningful staff development opportunities to improve student learning
