POSITION SUMMARY

Provide support, instruction, opportunities, and information to students individually and in small groups within an at-risk environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports Alternative Education Programs at the High School
  • Provide opportunities, information, and instruction to students individually and in small groups
  • Reviews student progress on a weekly basis for each student on their caseload
  • Reviews feedback and monitors student success
  • Communicate with program administrators, teaching staff, parents, and students about program and student progress and behavior
  • Assist students in accessing resources and completing assignments
  • Demonstrate, monitor, and encourage positive student behaviors and enforce school rules
  • Maintain student files and attendance records

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend meetings regarding student progress or program implementation

  • Grade assignments, maintain student files and attendance records

  • Perform clerical tasks such as typing, filing, maintaining records, photocopying, etc.

  • Assume duties of other staff members on an occasional or temporary basis

  • Perform other duties as assigned which are fairly within the scope of duties normally performed by school aides

  • Demonstrate, monitor, and encourage positive student behaviors, discipline as necessary and enforce school policies and procedures
