Position Details
General Statement
The Instructional Technology Specialist is a member of the ECAT team within the Teaching and Learning Technologies group in Academic Technology and Outreach. The ECAT team provides enterprise administration and support for the University's learning management system (LMS), ensuring a reliable, accessible, and effective teaching and learning environment for faculty, staff, and students.
This position serves as both a technical specialist and a consultative partner, working directly with instructors, campus departments, and other stakeholders to support the effective use of the LMS and related instructional technologies. Responsibilities include administering the LMS; managing accounts, permissions, authentication, and third-party integrations; monitoring system updates and coordinating change management with vendors; troubleshooting complex technical and instructional issues; and developing documentation, training, and other support resources for campus users.
The Instructional Technology Specialist also collaborates with faculty and campus partners to promote instructional best practices, accessible course design, and the effective use of technology to support teaching and learning. The position works closely with Academic Technology and Outreach's Instructional Technologists, the Center for Faculty Excellence's Instructional Designers, University Information Technology, and other campus stakeholders to support enterprise educational technology initiatives. In addition, the ECAT team supports the University's use of the LMS for non-credit instruction, employee training, and other institutional learning initiatives.
