    Technology Integration Specialist (Computer Teacher) (Probationary)

    Scarsdale Middle School is seeking a talented, experienced, and innovative candidate for the position of Technology Integration Specialist (Computer Teacher). The selected individual will collaborate with teachers to integrate technology into instruction while also supporting the complex instructional technology systems used throughout the school.. The successful candidate should demonstrate that they:

    • Collaborate with teachers to design technology-rich, student-centered learning experiences.
    • Experience supporting a 1:1 iPad learning environment and integrating iPads into classroom instruction.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Schoology, including course management, assessments, communication, and instructional design.
    • Utilize innovative practices to engage students and staff in the effective use of technology.
    • Possess advanced spreadsheet and data management skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, reporting, and data analysis.
    • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot instructional technology systems, user accounts, class rosters, permissions, and software platforms.
    • Analyze, import, export, reconcile, and maintain data across multiple district systems.
    • Manage multiple technology projects while collaborating with teachers, administrators, technical staff, and vendors.
    • Demonstrate strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

    The Scarsdale Middle School faculty understands the unique social/emotional as well as intellectual needs of students in grades 6-8 and offers a rich and varied educational program to our 1100 students. We focus on creating a challenging, nurturing, and supportive environment that fosters critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and citizenship. The school community boasts an accomplished faculty and staff along with an active, supportive parent body. Candidates must hold a valid NYS Middle Grades content area certification, and NY Educational Technology Specialist certification is preferred. Any current teacher with a Middle Grades certification is eligible, and will serve as a "teacher on special assignment" for the 2026-27 school year, with a chance for this to become a permanent appointment.

    General Overview

    Under the supervision of the building Principal and in collaboration with the Director of Instructional Technology, the Computer Teacher supports the use of technology in the Middle School.

    Responsibilities

    Teaching

    • Collaborates with classroom teachers to integrate technology into curriculum and instruction.
    • Provides direct instruction to students and professional development to faculty.
    • Supports the instructional technology expectations outlined in the District Technology Plan.

    Program and Support Services

    • Supports and manages instructional technology systems used throughout the school including iPad 1:1 program.
    • Configures user accounts, software platforms, class rosters, permissions, and system settings.
    • Maintains complex spreadsheets, reports, and databases used to support school operations.
    • Troubleshoots software, data, and technology issues while collaborating with district technology staff and vendors.
    • Serves as a resource to faculty on instructional technology and emerging technologies.
    • Attends district technology meetings and professional development.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated experience integrating technology into classroom instruction.
    • Advanced proficiency with iPad Apps, Schoology and Google Suite
    • Experience supporting multiple instructional technology platforms and systems.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

    Certification

    • Hold, or be eligible for, NY Permanent/Professional Certification for Middle Level (any discipline)
    • NY Educational Technology Specialist certification preferred.
