Description

Seeking instructors who can teach starting in fall 2026; specifically looking for instructors with DAYTIME availability NOT evenings.

Under the direction of the Associate Dean of the General Education Pathway, or designee, to develop and teach concepts and strategies for a variety of courses. Will require teaching courses in-person at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, and/or online during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Related duties include participation in department and advisory meetings, department and college functions, course and curriculum development in both traditional and non-traditional formats.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
  • Manage the classroom/laboratory.
  • Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
  • Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
  • Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
  • Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area.
  • Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
  • Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
  • Support student organizations and activities.
  • Develop relationships with business and industry.
  • Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
  • Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in the field.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Only those who meet all of the base minimum requirements listed below will be considered.

Minimum Educational Requirements: Must have at least ONE of the following:

  • A masters degree or higher n a Fine Arts discipline such as but not limited to Art, Design, Art History, or Film

OR

  • A masters degree or higher with at least eighteen (18) GRADUATE coursework credits in a Fine Arts discipline such as but not limited to Art, Design, Art History, or Film
  • Seeking instructors who can teach starting in fall 2026; specifically looking for instructors with DAYTIME availability NOT evenings.

Preferred Qualifications in ADDITION to the Minimums Listed Above:

  • Verifiable occupational work experience in a field other than education.
  • Experience in teaching, using, and/or developing curriculum in a variety of classroom environments including face-to-face, blended, and 100% online.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain curriculum currency.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English language fluency (able to read, write, and speak in both languages)

Supplemental Information

Start Date: This position supports the General Education Pathway and is available to start for the fall 2026 semester; approximately August 2026 start date.

Hours: This is a part-time faculty pool position. This is an "applicant pool" posting. Assignments are temporary, not guaranteed, can vary in hours/days, and will depend entirely on course availability and department needs each semester. All work must be performed in the state of Wisconsin; we do not have virtual opportunities for out of state residents. We are seeking candidates with flexibility to teach assignments to include any combination of the following:

  • Instructional Modality: In-person, online, and/or hybrid

  • Teaching Times: Daytime, evening, and/or weekend classes

Salary: The starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Employee Benefits at a Glance - PART-TIME FACULTY/EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT- Part-time employees pay a higher percentage of the premium than full-time employees.

HEALTH INSURANCE: MATC offers a choice between two medical insurance plans. See below for plan types:

1- UMR High Level PPO

2- UMR Low Level PPO

Note: All medical plans include Prescription Drug benefits at no additional costs to employees.

DENTAL INSURANCE: MATC offers a traditional group dental plan through Delta Dental.

Annual maximum per covered person is $2,500; plan covers preventive, routine, restoration, and orthodontics for dependents up to age 19.

GROUP TERM LIFE INSURANCE: MATC offers group life insurance benefits through Symetra Provident Insurance with active assignment and is fully paid for by the College. The amount of insurance is $15,000. The benefit is doubled in the event of accidental death.

RETIREMENT BENEFITS: If you are employed for greater than 12 months and meet the minimum hours requirement for participation in the WRS pension system, you will be notified of your eligibility. The College currently pays the full cost of the employer contribution (6.9%), and the employee pays the full part of the employee contribution of 6.9% of salary. There is a five year vesting period requirement in order to qualify for any employer contributions made on the employees behalf.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING PLANS: MATC offers eligible employees the opportunity to participate in both Health Care and Dependent Care flexible spending accounts administered through UMR.

SICK LEAVE BENEFITS: Sick leave is earned based on one times the weekly workload per semester. The maximum hours accumulation is 640 hours.

VACATION BENEFITS: Vacation is earned based on the length of service and hours worked each pay period. (Not available for Instructors)

PAID HOLIDAYS: MATC offers paid/flex holidays based on position.
