    Under the general direction and supervision of the Associate Dean and Dean, this instructor position cultivates learners in a dynamic and fast-paced industry. The instructor is responsible for keeping up-to-date with the current industry and developing/updating courses for different delivery formats (classroom, hybrid, synchronous online, and asynchronous online). This position falls under the supervision and direction of the Division Dean/Associate Dean and Program Chair(s) of the Computer Information Technology Program. This is a full-time regular position for the upcoming 2026-2027 Academic Year.\n \nCourses are focused on, but not limited to, Database Design, SQL, Programming Logic, Python, Java, C#.NET, JavaScript, and Web Page Development in HTML/CSS.\n \nEssential Functions\n \nProvide Student Instruction in Assigned Program Courses\n\n Construct relationships with diverse learners;\n Develop and deliver engaging lessons in assigned program courses;\n Build curriculum: lesson plans, assignments, tests (subject to program approval); Developing courses is a shared responsibility based on the Dean, Associate Dean, and Program Chair(s) after consideration of industry leaders' feedback.\n Operate all appropriate audio-visual and multimedia equipment and software.\n \nCreate and Develop Teaching Aids and Supplements\n\n Create visual communications presentations.\n Enhance engaged learning through the College's current visual/audio equipment and program applications.\n Keep up to date with current trends that reflect methods used in the Computer Information Technology industry.\n \nDevelop New Courses and Update Existing Courses\n\n Collaborate with others and add, develop, and/or implement changes in current courses to keep the Computer Information Technology program current.\n Develop courses that include writing course objectives, syllabi, handouts, and tests, and researching textbooks, online resources, and data for course use.\n \nMaintain and Upgrade Computer Information Technology Equipment\n\n Ensure classrooms, computer lab(s), and online equipment are suitable for engaged learning and are in working order for student use.\n \nComplete and Maintain Program and Students' Records\n\n Follow state and federal guidelines for student records.\n Maintain permanent student records: grade books, attendance, and student achievement for all courses taught.\n Use and promote the online instructional learning management software (LMS), Self-Service, OFFICE 365, and the HUB.\n Provide recommendations for capital equipment purchases of instructional supplies and equipment.\n \nMaintain Technical Competency in the Teaching Area\n\n Attend seminars, professional association meetings, conferences, educational workshops, or other related training sessions to stay technically competent.\n Participate in college activities related to professional development, diversity, and safety.\n \nParticipate in Area Campus-Based Program Activities and Teams\n\n Actively engage in and support Program activities (advisory team meetings, open house, division meetings, etc.) and College activities and teams as requested.\n \nAct as a Program Advisor for Students in the Computer Information Technology Program\n\n Mentor, support, and advise students on academic standing, progress, and the academic map demonstrating courses needed for graduation;\n Explain College policies and procedures to students to complete all records and forms, etc., as needed for articulation and program operation.\n \nIndividual Development Plan\n\n Develop an individualized development plan in cooperation with the Associate Dean and as defined and supported on the Professional Development website.\n \nProfessional Development\n\n Faculty must compile (3) different professional development activities during the year as defined and supported on the Professional Development website.\n \nAnnual Safety Training\n\n Faculty must complete all annual Safety Training as required by the College.\n \nPerform Other Campus and Program Duties as Assigned, Including, But Not Limited To:\n\n Substitute teach as required, budget development, advise co-program directors as requested, support and promote the College, the campus, and the Computer Information Technology program, support student recruitment, assist in the security of all College and program facilities, instruments, tools, materials, and equipment, and assist in supervising student help.\n Participation in determining and updating the Strategic Plan and completion of the annual Assessment process.\n Teach evening Continuing Education or off-campus Computer Information Technology classes or customized training classes.\n \nPromote a Culture of Belonging\n \nSupport and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute. Support the College's policies and programming related to access, fair employment, and equal opportunities for all.\n \nMinimum Qualifications\n\n Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent.\n \n+\u2212\n \nZone 5\n \nCategory\n \nPostsecondary - Community College \n \nAdditional Information\n \nSalary\n \n$56,900 per year (2025-2026 rate)\n \nBenefits\n \nSCC BEN Dollars \u2013 Eligible Employees: Full-time status. Regular employees with an FTE of 0.75 or greater will be eligible for SCC Ben Dollars. All employees will be required to elect a health insurance option. If the cost of insurance coverage selected by an employee exceeds the SCC Ben Dollars available, all additional costs will be withheld from the employee's paycheck. Any SCC Ben Dollars that the employee does not elect to use for the purchase of dependent health and dental insurance will be paid to the employee in cash at $0.93 per $1.00 benefit dollar. All amounts paid are subject to withholding for income and employment taxes, but not subject to the College's contribution toward the Retirement Savings Plan \u2013 Group Retirement Account (GRA).\n \nSchedule\n \nThis is a full-time regular position with an implied 40-hour work week, based on a 175-day work calendar. Teaching assignments for this position are scheduled and approved by the College between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday based on the instructional work calendar.
