Description of Job Duty:

A successful candidate will serve as Production Manager/Technical Director for the Tennessee Tech Theatre program and oversee the technical aspects of annual productions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Earned MFA, with a specialization in technical theatre, by the time of appointment. The candidate must have capability in scenic and lighting design and be able to work effectively with students, faculty, and university personnel. Experience in production management and set construction. The candidate must also have the knowledge and desire to teach Introduction to Theatre.

Preferred Qualifications:

College-level teaching experience and professional theatre experience is preferred. Costuming and/or makeup, is desirable. Candidate should have experience in set design, light design, construction, and production management.

Essential Functions:

This faculty member should be qualified to teach Stage Management, Sound Design, Lighting Design, and Stagecraft. Other areas of teaching may be assigned based on the candidate''s interest and experience. This position includes course release for overseeing the technical aspects of annual productions.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to climb ladders. Some heavy lifting involved.

Work Hours:

Teaching M-F 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Productions 6p.m.-midnight

Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience.
