THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON BID AWARD

The Instructor will provide educational and instructional support for multiple courses within the Office of the Dean. This role involves developing, delivering, and maintaining course materials, supporting faculty development, mentoring students, and ensuring compliance with institutional and accrediting standards. The instructor will collaborate closely with course directors, faculty, and leadership to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of educational programs, particularly within a military or Air Force training environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver instructional support for multiple courses in collaboration with course directors and faculty.
  • Develop, design, and deliver professional development training as directed by government representatives.
  • Maintain and deliver course material in both in-person and online learning environments.
  • Serve as Course Director when assigned and perform associated duties in accordance with local guidance.
  • Participate in instructional development processes, including precepting and mentoring instructors.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise and ensure instructional content meets delivery requirements.
  • Provide education and professional development support for instructors across the organization.
  • Prepare classrooms, test equipment, and support daily instructional operations.
  • Mentor and coach students during course delivery.
  • Maintain and update instructor qualifications in accordance with accrediting bodies (e.g., CCAF, USAFSAM).
  • Ensure compliance with all institutional, regulatory, and accreditation policies.
  • Attend required meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
  • Support special projects such as curriculum development, eLearning initiatives, and collaboration with external partners.
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure educational program integrity and effectiveness.
  • Assist in resolving student issues and escalating administrative challenges as needed.
  • Provide feedback through End of Course (EOC) surveys to improve course quality.
  • Support administrative functions including attendance tracking, class rosters, and graduation coordination.
  • Develop and maintain student resource materials.
  • Conduct faculty evaluations and assist with student and instructor assessments.
  • Provide academic support to struggling students through the Academic Excellence Program.
  • Assist with curriculum updates and development in coordination with curriculum managers.
  • Support faculty development programs and maintain instructor qualifications.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, organizational skills, initiative, and ability to manage complex projects.
  • Perform additional education and training-related duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in education or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of teaching experience or providing educational support in a formal education environment.
  • Experience as a DoD-qualified instructor or ability to obtain qualification (Basic Instructor Course and formal internship).
  • Prior qualification as a Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) instructor or ability to re-qualify Preferred.
  • Master Instructor certification or 250+ teaching hours Preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in Air Force Medical Service leadership (flight level or above) and/or clinical experience Preferred.
  • Knowledge of Air Force and military training standards and policies Preferred.
  • Completion of an approved teaching methodology course (Basic Instructor Course) Preferred.
  • Completion of a teaching internship Preferred.
  • Possess strong knowledge of instructional design and course delivery methods.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging training in both classroom and virtual environments.
  • Possess familiarity with Air Force, military, and professional education standards.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain instructor certifications (e.g., CCAF, USAFSAM).
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students, faculty, and leadership.
  • Possess organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze student performance data and provide actionable feedback.
  • Possess skill in mentoring, coaching, and supporting student success.
  • Proficiency with educational technologies and learning management systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, integrity, and professionalism.
