Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Dental Hygiene *(Military program faculty with a rank of staff sergeant, E5, or non-commissioned officer are exempt)
- Current Dental Assistant experience
- Current or willingness to obtain DANB (CDA) certification
- Current CPR certification
- Passion for mentoring and developing others
- Commitment to continuing education and professional growth
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
- 2+ years of dental office experience
- Dental Hygiene License (RDH)
- Experience in dental assisting (chairside, radiography, patient care)
- Interest in teaching or training others (formal teaching experience not required)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Essential Duties

Teach & Inspire
- Deliver hands-on instruction in classroom, lab, and clinical settings
- Demonstrate dental assisting techniques including chairside support, radiography, infection control, and patient care
- Create an engaging and supportive learning environment
- Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
Support Student Success
- Mentor and coach students throughout their learning journey
- Provide constructive feedback to build confidence and competence
- Support students in achieving academic and career goals
Program & Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with faculty to enhance curriculum and learning experiences
- Assist with maintaining lab supplies, equipment, and instructional materials
- Participate in program development, recruitment, and student engagement efforts
Stay Current
- Maintain industry knowledge, certifications, and continuing education
- Incorporate current dental practices and technologies into instruction
