Job Summary
GENERAL
This position is a full-time faculty position to serve as the Program Director and primary instructor for the Electromechanical Technology Program. This position reports directly to the Department Chair of Manufacturing.
The Electromechanical Program Director helps lead the growing Electromechanical program and Lamar State College Orange. Providing faculty guidance in curricular changes, scheduling, course assignments and industry relations. They help prepare students for positions in industrial repair, mechatronics, maintenance technicians, instrumentation, machining, and other related areas.
Each faculty member will schedule office hours which will include the normal working hours (8:00 - 5:00), not excluding evening hours when classes are in session. During these office hours, the faculty member will be available to counsel students and will be available for departmental, divisional, and institutional obligations.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Associate's degree, College Certificate, or Industry Recognized Credential, or equivalent relevant training required.
Relevant fields includes but are not limited to: Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Process Technology, Manufacturing, etc.

Teaching and/or training experience preferred. Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing electromechanical systems, working in manufacturing and industrial settings, commitment to and experience with safety in industrial settings
Physical Requirements:
Ambulatory; cognitive; normal speech/communication; normal written communication; normal or corrected visual acuity; normal or corrected hearing; and moderate travel required; frequent standing and sitting. Moderate lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying objects up to 20 pounds; operation of a personal computer and other various office equipment; infrequent stooping, bending, sorting, and filling.
