Position Description This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for assigned curriculum courses in Electronics Engineering Technology and for non-degree courses in industrial automation, mechatronics, robotics, and advanced manufacturing programs in the Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics Center.

Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective mannerMaintains accurate records of student work and attendancePrepares thoroughly for each instructional hourMaintains a safe and orderly learning environmentGrades and returns student work in a timely mannerCounsels students regarding their grades and progress in the courseMaintains current knowledge of industry standards, certifications, and technologies relevant to industrial automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing.Stays abreast of industry trends and incorporates new information into the delivery of courses as necessary to maintain the relevancy of instruction and contributes to discussions and planning related to lab equipment.Research, plan, organize, and deliver meaningful instruction using experiential learning methodologies to maximize student learning and meet the needs of internal and external partners.Conducts training classes and labs on-site at Wake Technical Community College campuses and Industry and Employer Sites.Establishes and executes meaningful learning objectives, modifies instructional strategies as needed to meet the diverse needs of students, and uses student-centric approaches to learning.Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the courseDesigns curriculum and a schedule of instructionMaintains regular office hoursUses assessment techniques to improve student learning outcomes and teaching methodsServes on college or department committees as neededAttends professional development opportunities when possibleAssists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabusMaintains communication with instructors from other departments and divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriateOversees class and lab operations, including evaluating part-time instructor credentials, verifying that lab activities and equipment are functional, maintaining and updating equipment, and ensuring facilities meet program needs.Collaborates with Facilities and other departments to support program equipment and operational requirements, including researching and recommending equipment purchases.Manages student records, attendance, and instructional materials to ensure alignment with course objectives and curriculum goals.Develops and aligns training offerings with strategic initiatives, including pathway alignment within workforce programs and between workforce and curriculum programs.Supports the integration of certifications as part of the Credit for Prior Learning process.Collaborates on grant applications to secure funding for equipment, programs, and student scholarships. *Participates in faculty training initiatives to promote interdisciplinary skills, alignment with advanced technology needs, and continual professional growth.

Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Engineering Technology: Electrical, STEM Ed., Automation/Robotics Technology, or related field Two years of industry, post-secondary teaching, or technical training experience Demonstrated knowledge of concepts related to automation, mechatronics, and advanced manufacturing Possess the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) Gold and Silver certifications OR Employee must earn the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) (8) Gold and (8) Silver certifications by the date set forth in the offer letter Computer skills using basic functions of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Outlook Unofficial transcripts must be uploaded with your application or submitted to Human Resources prior to consideration for interview

Preferences Master's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Engineering Technology: Electrical, STEM Ed., Automation/Robotics Technology or related field Five years of industry, post-secondary teaching, or technical training experience Industry recognized Electro-Mechanical certification Online teaching experience using Blackboard, or other Learning Management System Familiarity/experience with advanced manufacturing certification entities such as SACA, PMMI, and/or MSSCUSA, as well as a proven ability to integrate these certifications into workforce and curriculum programs Experience with advanced manufacturing training systems such as Amatrol, Festo or SMC, and proficiency in leveraging educational technologies like simulation tools or VR/AR applications to enhance learning Experience with electrical, pneumatics, robotics (Fanuc and/or Universal Robots or others), or PLCs (Rockwell and/or Siemens or others), with a track record of applying interdisciplinary approaches and fostering collaboration across STEM fields.
