Air Traffic Control (ATC), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Financial Control, Instructional Design, Mentoring, Operating Systems, Simulation, Training/Teaching
ClancyJG International is hiring a Field Instructor II to train air traffic controllers at the Kansas City Air Route Traffic Control Center (ZKC) in Olathe, KS. This is a casual, as-needed position for an experienced en route controller who wants to stay close to the work and bring along the next group coming up through the boards.
You will deliver classroom and simulation-lab training to developmental controllers and Certified Professional Controllers (CPCs), mentor students and Remote Pilot Operators (RPOs), and help build the courseware itself.
What you'll do
- Run and support classroom and simulation courses at FAA field sites
- Mentor developmental controllers, CPCs, and RPOs
- Contribute to Instructional Systems Design (ISD) work: developing, revising, and maintaining ATC training courses and building scenarios
What you need
- Five or more years of CPC experience controlling live traffic, or recent experience as a contract instructor at an FAA facility
- That experience at the same type and level of facility as ZKC. ZKC is an Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), so we are looking for en route experience
- Simulation Laboratory Certification
- Working familiarity with personal computers, operating systems, and application software equivalent to what the FAA uses
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Suitability/Public Trust background clearance
