    The School of Nursing and Health Professions invites applications for a part-time, 12-month Instructor in the Nurse Anesthesia program.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for didactic and clinical instruction in the nurse anesthesia specialty within the DNP Program in the School of Nursing and Health Professions. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to scholarship and service as well as excellence in teaching.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop, organize, deliver, and assess didactic and clinical instruction as assigned in graduate and undergraduate courses
    • Maintain current expert knowledge in subject matter and student/course assessment
    • Coordinate course materials to ensure that programmatic outcomes are met
    • Participate in teaching excellence, service, and scholarship activities
    • Maintain student records for assessment and submits all records/grades according to University deadlines
    • Advise students on academic progression, student clinical performance, clinical case logs, and NCE/SEE preparation
    • Serve as DNP project advisor
    • Assist with the coordination of the program's curriculum, including simulation and skills.
    • Attend regular program meetings with the DNP Nurse Anesthesia Program Administrator and DNP Program Director, others as needed
    • Complete service requirements such as serving on nursing committees, SONHP Committees and University Committees
    • Assist with the completion of university, state regulatory and/or accrediting agency reports
    • Assist program efforts to maintain accreditation
    • Complete annual faculty self-evaluation/reflection addressing teaching excellence, scholarship/research, practice, and service
    • Maintains teaching evaluations (IAS reporting scores) 3.0 or above according to the SONHP faculty handbook
    • Actively participate in recruitment activities
    • Assist with program evaluation
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Education Requirements

    Master's of Nursing required.

    Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements

    Current RN and APRN CRNA license. Must have attained or be eligible for licensure in Kentucky. BLS, PALS and ACLS required.

    Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications

    Doctorate in Nursing preferred. Previous experience or formal training in curriculum, instruction and evaluation preferred.
