Job Duties
Responsibility / Duty
- Providing high-quality teaching in courses produced by the department and based on department and university needs, including holding requisite office hours and abiding by all faculty responsibilities as defined by University Policy and Procedure.
Percentage Of Time 70 Responsibility / Duty
- Providing service to the department, college, university, and profession including but not limited to student advising, committee work, recruiting, and volunteer activity. The person in this position will be expected to (1) advise students in concentration curricula related to the faculty member's background; (2) serve on departmental committees as assigned; (3) provide committee and other service to the School, College and University; and (4) serve as volunteer and department and university representatives on extracurricular and sometimes after-hours events.
- The person in this position is expected to perform teaching and mentoring duties with particular focus on student access, progress, and success, as well as engage in collegial and collaborative activities with other university faculty.
- The person in this position is expected to be accountable for ensuring that affirmative action, equal opportunity, and diversity are integrally tied to all actions and decisions in areas of responsibility.
Percentage Of Time 15 Responsibility / Duty
Conducting scientific research and scholarship in teaching and learning in the field, which shall include successful grantsmanship, mentorship of students, service on undergraduate (Honors) and graduate student thesis committees, participating in professional development opportunities, presenting research findings at professional meetings and to the general public, and publishing scholarly articles in scientific journals.

Minimum Experience Required
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to a diverse student body.
- Proficiency in C++ and or python programming.
Minimum Education Required
- A Master of Science (M.S.) in information technology, cyber technology, cybersecurity, computer science, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum Licenses Required Other Minimum Requirements Test(s) Required Preferred Education
- A Ph.D. in information technology, cyber technology, cybersecurity, computer science, or a closely related field is strongly preferred.
- Certifications in cybersecurity preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level or significant industrial experience preferred.
- Experience in curriculum and course development.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software, certifications, and operations.
