Part-Time - 2 vacancies for the Fall 2026 Semester beginning mid-August 10th.

Hours vary based on departmental needs

Under the supervision of the Associate Dean or designee, to teach classroom and laboratory courses in Pharmacy Technician/Community Pharmacy Technician to diploma and vocational diploma students. Related duties include development and teaching of all pharmacy technician/community pharmacy technician courses, advising/mentoring students, maintaining laboratory facilities, ordering equipment and supplies, planning and supervising clinical learning experiences, evaluating student achievement, developing/revising the curriculum, helping to formulate departmental policy and procedures, evaluating program effectiveness, developing strategies to enhance student achievement, participation in divisional and departmental activities, and other duties as assigned.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching related activities
  • Manager the classroom/laboratory.
  • Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness? assist in program evaluation.
  • Manage equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
  • Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.
  • Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
  • Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
  • Support student organizations and activities.
  • Develop relationships with business and industry.
  • Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
  • Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in filed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

Pharmacist: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or higher. Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.

  • OR-

Pharmacy Technician: Must have a Bachelor's degree or higher. Graduate of an American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited pharmacy technician training program preferred.

Occupational Requirements:

Must have a minimum of three (3) years of full-time or equivalent (6, 000 hours) work experience in Pharmacy practice, with a minimum of 2 years of sterile compounding experience within the past 5 years as a pharmacist or pharmacy technician. Hands-on sterile compounding experience in a cleanroom environment in accordance with USP <797>, including aseptic technique and sterile product preparation.

Preferred Experience: Experience in USP <797> and USP <800> compliance programs, including environmental monitoring, cleanroom operations oversight, and documentation or audit processes. Experience in a lead, supervisory, or educator role within sterile compounding operations, including training staff and supporting competency assessment programs.

In addition, one of the following must be met:

  • At least three (3) years of work experience must have occurred within the last five (5) years.
  • Two (2) years of teaching Pharmacy Technician course work at the post-secondary level within the last five (5) years.

Industry Certification:

Pharmacy Technician - Valid Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.

Licensure:

Pharmacy Technician- Valid Pharmacy Technician license from the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.

Pharmacist- Valid Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license by the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge or experience with engaged and service learning strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Healthcare Physical Requirements: Must satisfactorily complete health requirements for the School of Health Science, which include a criminal background check, drug test, and verification of immunizations.

Supplemental Information

Start Date: This position supports the Healthcare Pathway and is available to start in fall semester (August 10, 2026).

Hours: This is a part-time faculty pool position. This is an "applicant pool" posting. Assignments are temporary, not guaranteed, can vary in hours/days, and will depend entirely on course availability and department needs each semester. All work must be performed in the state of Wisconsin. We are seeking candidates with flexibility to teach assignments to include any combination of the following:

  • Instructional Modality: In-person

  • Teaching Times: Daytime, evening, and/or weekend classes

Salary: The starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is non-negotiable.

Employee Benefits at a Glance - PART-TIME FACULTY/EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT- Part-time employees pay a higher percentage of the premium than full-time employees.

HEALTH INSURANCE: MATC offers a choice between two medical insurance plans. See below for plan types:

Note: All medical plans include Prescription Drug benefits at no additional costs to employees.

DENTAL INSURANCE: MATC offers a traditional group dental plan through Delta Dental.

Annual maximum per covered person is $2,500; plan covers preventive, routine, restoration, and orthodontics for dependents up to age 19.

GROUP TERM LIFE INSURANCE: MATC offers group life insurance benefits through Symetra Provident Insurance with active assignment and is fully paid for by the College. The amount of insurance is $15,000. The benefit is doubled in the event of accidental death.

RETIREMENT BENEFITS: If you are employed for greater than 12 months and meet the minimum hours requirement for participation in the WRS pension system, you will be notified of your eligibility. The College currently pays the full cost of the employer contribution (6.9%), and the employee pays the full part of the employee contribution of 6.9% of salary. There is a five year vesting period requirement in order to qualify for any employer contributions made on the employees behalf.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING PLANS: MATC offers eligible employees the opportunity to participate in both Health Care and Dependent Care flexible spending accounts administered through UMR.

SICK LEAVE BENEFITS: Sick leave is earned based on one times the weekly workload per semester. The maximum hours accumulation is 640 hours.

VACATION BENEFITS: Vacation is earned based on the length of service and hours worked each pay period. (Not available for Instructors)
