Job Qualifications • Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching with a record of successfully impacting student achievement and working successfully with students who have exceptional needs. • Illinois Professional Educator License PEL with LBS1 endorsement.
Salary and Benefits • Salary Range: $48,920 - $80,988 • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance. • TRS position.
Overview
The Black Hawk Area Special Education District is seeking a passionate Instructor for the Project SEARCH program to support students and staff within our BHASED programs and member districts. This positions goals are to:
• Serve as a daily coordinating liaison between Project SEARCH Host-Business Unity Point-Trinity Rock Island campus BHASED Michelles Vocational Placement and the Districts Served. • Facilitate students transition from school to work through partnerships with school personnel, adult service providers, local Vocational Rehabilitation staff, and students/customers and families. • As a member of the interdisciplinary team, provide and stimulate cooperative planning and development of each students Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and the DRS Individual Plan for Employment (IPE). • Identify student strengths, interests, and abilities related to skill acquisition. • Teach and coach interns, case-manage their internships, and monitor and report progress. • Partner with host-business departments and develop and lead disability awareness within the host site. • Guide each intern to readiness for employment under the Project SEARCH guidelines.
