Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The Part-time Instructor, Psychology will teach all levels of psychology courses, including college transfer to undergraduate students.

This position requires daytime, in-person instruction at partner high school locations within the Forsyth Technical Community College service area, including sites within Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. The selected candidate must have consistent weekday daytime availability and be able to travel to assigned high school campuses to deliver face-to-face instruction. Flexibility to teach at multiple locations based on program needs is expected.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master's Degree or higher with 18 graduate hours in Psychology. Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Dept of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC.

  2. Successful teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications Essential Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assume responsibility for teaching assignments as designated by the department chairperson and approved by the assistant dean/VP
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining all required College records including attendance and grade reports, roll books, etc.
  • Classroom preparation, instruction, grading and record keeping for up to four classes per semester.
  • Make recommendations to Department Chair for supplies, equipment, and equipment repairs.
  • Construct, administer, and grade examinations.
  • Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all policies of the College.
