Position Type: Part-Time / After-SchoolCompensation: $30-$40 per hourSchedule: Two afternoons per week during the school yearReports To: Performing Arts Director Position SummaryLowell Community Charter Public School (LCCPS) seeks an enthusiastic and dependable Middle School Strings (Violin) Program Instructor to support our after-school performing arts programming. This role is ideal for college-level music students or emerging educators interested in gaining hands-on teaching experience in a dynamic urban school setting. The Assistant Instructor will work closely with the Performing Arts Director to support instruction, small-group rehearsals, student engagement, classroom management, and program logistics during twice-weekly after-school sessions held on campus.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport & lead instruction during after-school violin classes and rehearsalsWork with small groups or individual students on technique, posture, rhythm, tone production, and repertoireAssist with tuning instruments and basic equipment setup/breakdownReinforce rehearsal expectations and positive student behaviorHelp track attendance and student participationSupport performances, showcases, and culminating events as scheduledCommunicate professionally with staff and studentsModel professionalism, reliability, and enthusiasm for music educationQualificationsCurrent college student or recent graduate majoring in music performance, music education, or a related fieldStrong violin proficiency requiredAbility to follow instructional direction and collaborate as part of a teaching teamDependable and punctual for twice-weekly sessionsBackground check clearance requiredWhy LCCPS?LCCPS is a PK–8 public charter school located in downtown Lowell, Massachusetts, serving more than 800 students.
