Instructor - Annually Contracted Instructor - Welding

Overview:

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College invites applications for the position of a one year Annually Contracted Instructor to teach Welding. At the end of this one-year contract, there is potential to apply for a full-time, tenure-track position. As part of our team of highly qualified faculty, Instructors are expected to provide high-quality instruction and work with industry, college administration, staff, and faculty to improve student learning experiences and be committed to the mission and values of the College. This position will be responsible for classroom and laboratory instruction in such courses as;

  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
  • Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
  • Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
  • Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW)
  • Welding inspection
  • Print reading
  • Metal Fabrication
  • Weldability of Metals

Essential Duties:

  • Deliver learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement as well as effectively planning and preparing classes and student success.
  • Adequately prepare all course materials and lessons.
  • Ensure that students achieve course and learning outcomes as defined by the program chair.
  • Complete, as directed, all start and end of semester responsibilities, including submission of no-show rosters, final grades and other designated materials to the Academic Office.
  • Maintain office hours to answer student questions and handle course-related matters.
  • Respond to requests (e.g., from students, academia area chairs, department heads, committee chairs, Records office) in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Some evening or weekend hours may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate''s degree in Welding Technology or related field from an accredited college or university or two or more years of education or industry experience in welding, training in welding, or metal fabrication.
  • Some night or weekend hours may be required
  • Manual dexterity to operate welding equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Welding or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • AWS CWE or CWI credentials and competence in advanced welding materials and practices.
