Description:

Temporary Non-Exempt Staff Instructors

This role takes a lead responsibility in developing, implementing, and delivering college and career readiness programming for Upward Bound students. This position drives curriculum development, leads workshops, and ensures high-quality instructional and mentorship delivery.

Job Duties

  • Curriculum & Workshop Leadership: Design, develop, and facilitate engaging virtual or in-person workshops and lessons focused on college readiness, financial literacy, academic success strategies, and goal setting
  • Student Tracking & Compliance: Oversee and manage the documentation of student participation, service usage, and progress toward academic goals, ensuring data alignment with grant requirements
  • Field Trips: Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of academic, cultural, or educational enrichment activities and field trips
  • Resource Development: Create, and organize instructional materials, student packets, and educational resources tailored to diverse learning needs

Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Communications, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with youth development programs, academic advising, teaching, or federally funded programs (such as TRIO).

Preferred:

  • Licensure/Certification: Valid State Teaching License/Certification, School Counselor Certification, or a related professional educational credential.
  • Skills: Strong familiarity with college admissions processes, financial aid (FAFSA), and the unique needs of first-generation or low-income students.
