Job Title: Instrument Technician

Location: Canton, GA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Evenings | Monday–Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week (5x8-hour shifts)

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Instrument Technician/Central Sterile Processing experience.
  • No local candidates within 50 miles of the facility.
  • Preferred Certification:
    • HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) Certification

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment.
  • Reprocess surgical instruments following established infection prevention and sterilization standards.
  • Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage, ensuring they are ready for surgical procedures.
  • Assemble instrument trays according to physician preference cards and departmental guidelines.
  • Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, including steam sterilizers and low-temperature sterilization systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles, biological testing, and quality assurance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, AAMI, and infection control standards.
  • Collaborate with the Operating Room team to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Maintain inventory of sterile instruments and communicate equipment repair or replacement needs.

Position Details

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Evening shift, Monday through Friday.
  • Scrub Color: Dark Blue (provided by the facility).
