This is a Instrumentation Tech II
Pay Rate: Instrumentation Tech III - $30 - $33hr
Hours: 40hr week(8-4:30 preferred, but can flex)

Instrumentation Tech II

Accountable for performing calibration, preventative maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of
laboratory equipment.

Job Responsibilities Include: (Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)
Routinely performing calibration, preventative maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of
laboratory equipment.
Routinely developing, executing, and documenting validations related activities in a timely
manner.
Possessing a strong understanding of calibration terminology, calibration principles, including
equipment, process & calibration specifications.
Ability to read, understand and work from technical manuals, SOP's & schematics.
Possessing exceptional technical writing skills and ability to develop, review & revise departmental
procedures as required.
Ability to execute moderate to complex projects with limited supervision.
Representing Instrumentation in a professional and positive manner to internal and external
customers, vendors, and other groups within the company at all levels.
Assisting in the education of end users on basic calibration principles and requirements and
recommending adequate preventive maintenance activities.
Performing basic record keeping and data management activities such as entering equipment
history records, running reports, and verification of data entered.
Performing all related maintenance activities in a manner consistent with department policies and
company requirements.
Assisting with Equipment inventory reconciliation and refurbish surplus/unused equipment.
Operating independently within a team environment.

Education and Experience:
EDUCATION:
Requires a High School Diploma or GED
(A.S., B.A., or CST Certification is desirable).
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 to 7 years of related work experience with laboratory or hospital equipment is
required.
Minimum of 5 years direct experience with ISO 9001:2008, 10012, 17025 or 13485 required.
Experience with system databases such as SAP, CalMan, Microsoft Access, Project, PowerPoint
& Excel.


Knowledge and Skills:
Requires a strong working knowledge of calibration principles and good documentation practices.
Knowledge of Refrigeration Equipment Calibration, Maintenance, Repair, and Troubleshooting is
a plus.
Candidates must have the ability to effectively perform component Level trouble shooting, data
analysis, and in-depth equipment repair.
Candidates must have the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, shifts in priorities, and time
sensitive projects.
Candidates must be customer service oriented. Must possess and be able to demonstrate a
moderate understanding of Calibration Principles, Calibration terminology, Loop Checking,
Troubleshooting, Start-Up, Maintenance and Repair activities.
Must be able to use electronic Test Equipment and be able to read schematics. Computer and
database skills are required.
Requires exceptional technical writing skills
**Requires a current, valid, unrestricted California Driver's License and clean driving record.

Physical Demands:
Driving: Frequently operates company vehicles and equipment.
Walking: frequently standing on feet for the majority of the shift (up to 8 hours/ per day, 40 hours/
per week); works in confined spaces
Carrying: Frequently transports objects by holding them in hands or arms or by using carts.
Hands/Arms: Frequent operation of hand and power tools.
Handling: Seizes hauls or works with hands.
Lifting: Frequent lifting raising and lowering of laboratory equipment, including centrifuges,
pumps, motors, and other related items.

Bending/Stooping: Frequent bending at the knees or waist. Occasionally moving in and out of
confined spaces.
Sitting: moderate sitting
Frequently works on live electric equipment
Occasional overtime beyond 40 hours/week, or 8 hours/day required

Environmental Conditions:
Noise: Occasionally works in noisy conditions.
Personnel Protective Equipment required, safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes
