Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Inspector I / II / III – Water/WastewaterOffice Location: STLLevel: 4+ yearsDepartment: 360 Construction ServicesReports to: Operation ManagerPosition SummaryWe are seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Inspector to support inspection and commissioning activities on water and wastewater treatment projects. This role is responsible for ensuring that electrical, instrumentation, and control systems are installed, tested, and documented in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.Essential FunctionsInspect and document daily contractor work for electrical and I&C systemsProvide detailed photo documentation of construction progress and installationsVerify compliance with project drawings, specifications, and approved submittalsInspect installation of instrumentation for flow, level, pressure, and water quality monitoring (e.g., pH, turbidity, chlorine)Witness and document: Electrical testing (continuity, insulation resistance, etc.)Loop checks and I/O testingVerify installation and operation of control systems for pumps, blowers, valves, and chemical feed systemsTrack and document RFIs, Field Orders, and Change OrdersIdentify and report non-conforming work and support resolution with project teamsSupport commissioning and system startup activitiesQualificationsRequired Experience4+ years of relevant experienceIndependently perform inspections and testing verificationStrong understanding of NEC and industrial electrical systemsExperience with PLC/SCADA systems and field instrumentationExperience leading commissioning and integrated system testingAC/DC power and control circuitsNEMA enclosure ratings for industrial environmentsWire sizing, grounding, and conduit installation practicesControl systems including PLC, SCADA, DCS, and RTUsCommunication protocols such as HART, Modbus (TCP/RTU), EtherNet/IP, and PROFINETRequired SkillsAbility to read and interpret: Electrical schematics and wiring diagramsPiping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)Control narratives and sequences of operationAbility to climb ladders and work at heights or in confined spacesStrong attention to detail and documentation skillsEffective communication and coordination with contractors and project teamsActive construction sites at water/wastewater treatment plants and pump stationsExposure to outdoor conditions, moisture, and industrial environmentsWork may involve confined spaces, heights, and proximity to operating equipmentStrict adherence to safety protocols including PPE, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and confined space proceduresPreferred CertificationOSHA 10 (required)OSHA 30 (preferred)Commissioning or controls-related certifications are a plus#J-18808-Ljbffr
