Education: High school graduate or equivalent education required. Graduate of a trade or vocational school with courses in blueprint reading, mathematics and physics and specialized curriculum in HVAC&R maintenance preferred.
Experience: Five years of HVAC & R experience, with specific experience and strong knowledge of digital and pneumatic controls systems, hydronics, refrigeration, building control techniques, and programming. Journey level experience as an HVAC mechanic. Experience using a computer to manage building control systems and/or chilled water systems required.
Licensure/certification: CFC certification required. Valid Virginia Driver's license with good driving record required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of state and local codes that pertain to the positions area of responsibility. Ability to analyze problems, interpret drawings and specifications. Must possess a good understanding of programming and automated building control. Ability to communicate and work well with others. May be asked to provide basic general purpose maintenance tools. May be required to work additional hours and shifts. Position is deemed emergency personnel during emergency weather conditions. Must travel to different locations to work.

Compensation Range:
Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
