Koch Fertilizer, LLC is now hiring a self-driven Operations and Instrumentation Technician to join the fertilizer shipping and storage terminal located in Vernon Center, MN. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining Instrumentation & Electrical control systems and will perform duties to ensure the safe, compliant, and reliable operations of the terminal.*This is a flexible day shift position, Monday – Friday and may include some overnight travel to other terminals as well as overtime opportunities during the spring and fall fertilizer application season. The successful candidate will be able to report to on-call requests within 45 minutes of the terminal reporting location.Our TeamKoch Fertilizer, LLC owns a network of storage and terminal assets across the Midwest responsible for storage and shipment of anhydrous ammonia to customers for agricultural and industrial use.What You Will DoWork with full life cycle of ammonia processes including refrigeration, gas fired heating, instrumentation, and PLC control systems, pumps, motors, and loading/unloading productTroubleshoot, maintain, and operate ammonia refrigeration, storage, loading/unloading systemsTrain customers how to safely load anhydrous ammoniaPerform general housekeeping and grounds maintenanceAssist the Terminal Leader with compliance documentationManage calibration, installation, verification, and validation of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Human Machine Interface (HMI) systemsTroubleshoot and maintain I&E Control systems through inspections, tests, adjustments, and repairs of electric, electronic, mechanical, instruments and systemsManage daily maintenance work utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Perform reliability-based maintenance, repair, or replacement of a variety of instruments including but not limited to, flow, level, pressure, temperature, vibration, variable frequency drives, electric motors, and analyzersImprove, develop, and implement maintenance process improvements and efficienciesWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Experience OR training in the maintenance and troubleshooting electrical control systemsExperience reading electrical and piping circuit drawingsValid Driver's licensePhysical RequirementsAbility to be medically approved to participate in the respiratory protection and HAZWOPER programsAbility to push/pull up to 75 lbsAbility to lift/carry up to 50 lbsAbility to grip up to 30 lbsAbility to climb stairs, ladders, and work at heights up to 100 ftAbility to work outdoors in various types of weatherAbility to sit, stand or kneel as neededAbility to wear full Level A Personal Protective Equipment while performing work dutiesWhat Will Put You Ahead3+ years of industrial electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems experience3+ years of experience working with Motor Controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's)Knowledge of industrial test equipment (Hart Communicator, Multimeter, signal generators, etc.) with troubleshooting and electrical skillsExperience with a CMMS system (Ex: Maximo)Associates degree in a technical fieldPrevious leadership experienceFor this role, we anticipate paying $33.00 – $45.00 per hour.
