Charlotte Behavioral Health Care (CBHC) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Insurance and Revenue Specialist to join our Finance team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the organizations financial health by ensuring accurate payment posting, accounts receivable management, denial resolution, and reimbursement follow-up for behavioral health services.
The ideal candidate will have experience with healthcare billing, insurance reimbursement, payment posting, and accounts receivable processes and enjoy working in a collaborative environment dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families in our community.
Essential Responsibilities
- Enter and maintain insurance information required for billing Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care, and commercial insurance payers.
- Accurately post and reconcile insurance and patient payments.
- Review and follow up on insurance denials, claim rejections, remittances, Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), and reimbursement discrepancies.
- Assist with accounts receivable management, including monitoring aging balances and unpaid claims.
- Support insurance appeal processes and payer correspondence.
- Review insurance and financial information for accuracy and completeness.
- Answer patient inquiries regarding payment options and process payments as needed.
- Identify recurring billing, reimbursement, and payer-related issues and communicate findings to leadership.
- Participate in revenue cycle improvement initiatives and special projects.

Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience in healthcare billing, payment posting, accounts receivable, insurance collections, revenue cycle operations, or related financial functions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care, and commercial insurance plans.
- Experience in behavioral healthcare, community mental health, or healthcare revenue cycle operations.
