Insurance Claims Investigator

Location: On-Site – Howell, Michigan

Responsibilities and Qualifications:        

• Investigate insurance claims relating to liability, uninsured motorist, workers’ compensation, disability, etc.        
• Review claim documents and available records for investigative leads
• Scrutinize provided information for evidence of fraudulent claims
• Clarify individual claims to eliminate misinformation
• Call and schedule appointments, or make in-person attempts, to obtain verbal statements from parties involved in insurance claims
• Contact insurance carriers to verify automotive coverage for individuals and/or particular vehicles
• Take detailed notes regarding investigative efforts to be used for compilation in a written report
• Utilize dictation/Dictaphone technology to dictate efforts into a written report
• Be well-organized with strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Chrome
• Possess strong communication skills and be able to speak with others comfortably
• Have a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
• Be an individual our team can rely on for punctuality
• Possess exceptional composition skills fit for a professional environment
• Reside in the state of Michigan, preferably within the southeast Michigan area

Legal Qualifications:

• All applicants must be willing to submit to a criminal background check and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Insurance Claims Investigators at Data Surveys, Inc. are required to utilize their own personal vehicles for any necessary road travel throughout the week. Your vehicle needs to be properly registered, insured and reliable. Data Surveys, Inc. provides mileage reimbursement for travel related to investigative efforts.

• Production-based compensation dependent on caseload worked each week
• A majority of the job duties are performed on-site in Howell, Michigan, with some road travel around the State of Michigan
