What weâre looking for:

The Insurance Coordinator maintain responsibility for verifying patient insurance as well as submitting and following up on all pre-authorization and appeals requests to payers. The Insurance Coordinator also assists with other duties as assigned.

Keys to success include proactive, detailed communication and attention to detail as well as the ability to collect, organize, and track necessary documentation.

How You'll Drive Impact:

  • Submit prior authorization (PA) requests and appeals to insurance payers, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Maintain responsibility for timely follow-up on filed PA requests and appeals with insurance companies via telephone, writing, or the payer website to obtain decision letters regarding authorizations or denials.
  • Review approval and denial letters, determining appropriate next steps and strategies.Â
  • Verify patient insurance coverage as needed, ensuring proper processing and accurately determining patientsâ primary insurance.
  • Liaise and coordinate with patients, providing updates on insurance matters and gathering necessary information as needed.Â
  • Accurately calculate out-of-pocket cost for patients who have received authorization.
  • Determine and obtain Single Case Agreement for patients who have received authorization, following up with insurance companies to obtain if necessary.Â
  • Obtain HMO referrals from provider offices.
  • Document all activities as needed in various reports, ensuring prompt, accurate, and complete notes in the CRM system.
  • Manage a balanced caseload to effectively meet organizational goals.
  • Collaborate regularly with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment.Â

What You'll Bring:

  • 4+ yearsâ experience within a medical office setting.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of various insurance plans and HIPAA.
  • Excellent customer service skills, professionalism over the phone, and warm efficiency.Â
  • Experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to new situations, prioritize work appropriately, and solve problems effectively.
  • Basic comprehension of computer programs, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
