Insurance Defense Attorney | Boston, MA | Hybrid | $130,000–$150,000

An established law firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney with 3–8 years of experience to join its Boston team. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who can step into an active caseload, work independently, and manage insurance defense matters with confidence from start to finish.

The position offers a hybrid work schedule, full benefits, and an annual billable requirement of 1,800 hours.

Responsibilities

• Manage insurance defense cases from initial evaluation through resolution.

• Develop litigation strategies and provide practical case assessments.

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.

• Take and defend depositions and participate in hearings and mediations.

• Prepare matters for trial and communicate effectively with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel.

• Independently manage deadlines, case priorities, and an active litigation caseload.

Qualifications

• 3-8 years of insurance defense litigation experience.

• Active Massachusetts bar admission required; additional state admissions are a plus.

• Ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision.

• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and case management skills.

• Sound judgment and confidence handling substantive litigation responsibilities.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary: $130,000–$150,000, based on experience.

• Hybrid work schedule in Boston, MA.

• 1,800 annual billable hours.
