Missouri license is a plus.Job SummaryThis position is responsible for representing clients in all areas of insurance defense practice, handling cases that are primarily low in complexity and exposure. Manages all phases of cases from intake to resolution.Essential Job FunctionsLitigate low‑complexity and exposure cases and perform duties necessary from intake to trial and/or settlement, including preparation of pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs.Attend hearings, conferences, interviews, mediations, arbitrations, and/or trials.Proactively inform leadership of case handling opportunities and challenges encountered.Consult with the Claims Department on the legal aspects of files.Perform other tasks or duties to ensure efficient case management.May handle second‑chair trials and trial cases with minimal complexity and/or exposure.May provide support to senior attorneys on cases of greater complexity and/or exposure and may receive developmental assignments of matters that are of moderate complexity and/or exposure.Physical ActionsJob is performed in‑person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location. The work may include field locations. Physical work environment is indoors and climate‑controlled with adequate lighting and ventilation. Normal distractions include background noise from office equipment and chatter among people, as well as interruptions. Field work outdoors may include exposure to weather elements. Responsibilities include sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time, occasionally moving around the workplace, navigating stairs or uneven surfaces, moving, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing fine‑motor tasks such as typing and writing. A letter from a couple in 2002 wrote that their Farmers agent and Claims Adjuster “were exceptional in their handling of our grief, what we needed to do, and helpful in many other ways.” That same year, when Hurricane Rita struck Beaumont, Texas, Farmers sent 300 agents to assess damages while policy holders were evacuated. Farmers also donated $100,000 for the city’s emergency operations center and two megawatt generators that restored power to Beaumont.
