Job Details

We are seeking a mid-level to senior Insurance Defense Attorney with construction defect experience to join our Los Angeles litigation team.

Responsibilities

• Handle insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Manage construction defect cases, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation and trial preparation.
• Draft and argue motions, prepare case strategy and evaluate liability, damages and exposure.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, experts and corporate representatives.
• Work directly with clients, carriers, experts, opposing counsel and internal litigation teams.
• Manage deadlines, case budgets, reporting requirements and litigation strategy.
• Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations and other litigation proceedings.
• Support case resolution through settlement negotiations, dispositive motions and trial preparation.

Qualifications

• Mid-level to senior attorney with insurance defense litigation experience.
• Construction defect experience strongly preferred.
• 1,900 billable hour requirement.
• Strong written advocacy, deposition, motion practice and case management skills.
• Ability to manage a litigation caseload with limited supervision.
• Experience working with insurance carriers, reporting guidelines and litigation budgets preferred.
• Active and good standing California bar required.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule in Los Angeles.
