Note: Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Michigan and have at least 1 year of experience practicing as an attorney. Prior insurance defense or negligence defense litigation experience is preferred but not required.
Job Description
- Handle a variety of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution with guidance from experienced attorneys as needed.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research, written discovery, depositions, and case preparation.
- Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and court proceedings.
- Develop litigation strategies while collaborating with attorneys and clients.
- Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement opportunities.
- Build strong client relationships by delivering responsive, high-quality legal service.
Qualifications
- Active Michigan Bar license.
- 1+ year of experience practicing as an attorney.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with civil litigation is helpful.
- Insurance defense or negligence defense litigation experience is preferred.
