Downtown Manhattan Insurance firm is seeking an Examiner to assist with claims and paperwork. Onsite 5 days per week in downtown Manhattan.
Processes incoming documents by reviewing for accuracy and stamping. Performs
technical and clerical duties to ensure smooth flow of work through department.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1. EXAMINES each incoming document for accuracy, completeness and acceptability.
2. DETERMINES correct coverage and classification codes.
3. VERIFIES Company(ies) are currently eligible for stamping in New York State.
4. INDENTIFIES items requiring additional or corrected information.
5. TELEPHONES broker to obtain additional information, if appropriate.
6. CORRECTS minor clerical errors on affidavits with broker consent.
7. INDENTIFIES items which require return to the broker without stamping.
8. DETERMINES proper "suspense” code for each returned unstamped batch item.
9. STAMPS all documents that meet the ELANY requirements and NY laws for excess
line placements.
10. FILES original affidavits in monthly folder for broker.
11. PERFORMS processing and stamping accurately and within production guidelines

Bachelor's degree is preferred. Insurance experience not needed. Must have good skills, with MS Outlook, Word, and data entry.
