Job Overview

A growing State Farm agency in Clinton, Maryland, is seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Insurance Sales Account Manager.

This is primarily a sales and business-development position for someone who enjoys speaking with people, developing new relationships, following up with prospects, and turning opportunities into new business. Approximately 80% of the position will involve outbound sales and business development, with the remaining time devoted to supporting existing customers.

The agency is preparing for an aggressive period of growth and is investing in the resources, events, and support needed for a high-performing producer to succeed.

Compensation

• Starting pay of approximately $20.00 per hour, based on experience and licensing
• Additional commission and performance-based bonus opportunities
• No commission draw
• Opportunities to increase earnings through individual production

What You Will Be Doing

• Make outbound calls to prospective and existing customers
• Work warm and cold leads to generate new business
• Conduct insurance policy reviews and identify coverage needs
• Prepare quotes and explain available products and coverage options
• Follow up consistently with prospects, quotes, and outstanding opportunities
• Cross-sell appropriate products to existing customers
• Ask for the sale and guide customers through the next steps
• Develop relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and referral partners
• Generate business through networking, referrals, and Centers of Influence
• Participate in community events and agency outreach initiatives
• Assist existing customers with policy questions, vehicle additions, and other service needs
• Maintain accurate records of customer conversations, leads, and sales activity
• Work toward established premium-production goals
• Collaborate with the agency’s customer service team

• Insurance sales or account-management experience is preferred but not required

Licensing Requirements

An active Property and Casualty license and Life and Health license are strongly preferred.

Candidates who are not currently licensed may still be considered if they demonstrate strong sales potential and the ability to complete the required licensing process. An unlicensed new hire may initially assist with customer service and other agency responsibilities while working toward licensure.

Schedule and Work Location

• Full-time position
• Primarily based in the Clinton, Maryland office
• New employees will work mainly in the office during training
• Limited work-from-home opportunities may become available based on performance
• Some weekend community or agency events may be required
• Time off during the week or overtime may be available when weekend work is needed

Success in this position is measured primarily by the amount of insurance premium produced. Outbound activity and call volume are tracked, but the agency values productive, high-quality conversations and results.

A successful Account Manager will consistently generate new opportunities, follow through with prospects, build lasting customer relationships, and contribute directly to the agency’s growth.
