Production Underwriter - Excess Umbrella Specialist - Wallingford, CT

Seeking expertise underwriting Excess Umbrella risks and ability to grow, manage, and maintain an underwriting group focused on customer satisfaction and profitability.

Shall:

• Review customer applications, financials, credit history, loss reports, catastrophic potential, etc. to determine level of risk and evaluate, modify, price and accept risks and determine coverage limits, terms, and pricing.

• Utilize predictive modeling tools, pricing guidelines, and rating methodologies to accept or decline risk.

• Ensure company underwriting activities meet internal and regulatory guidelines.

• Analyze adverse underwriting decisions, underwriting requirements, rate appeals, and declinations to assist with strategy planning and development.

• Manage portfolio and pursue profitability, rate and retention, and new business goals.

• Develop and manage relationships with producers and distributors.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years underwriting experience with specific expertise in excess umbrella coverages.

• Ability to develop underwriting strategies and proven track record building and managing new business opportunities.
