Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for a Weekend Supervisor in our Intake Department.

The Intake Supervisor provides supervision and direction to Assessment and Referral Center staff and during the absence of the department director. They complete all reports as requested by the Direct of Assessment & Referral Center. The Supervisor will also perform Intake Clinician duties, responding to all requests for mental health services received at the hospital. They also insure patients admitted meet clinical and financial criteria established by the hospital. This position also actively supports, promotes and works to fulfill the Mission, Vision and Values of Forest View Hospital using our Service Excellence program.

Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Arrange staffing to perform intake duties and responsibilities.
  • Conduct performance reviews with employees in a timely fashion.
  • Uphold hospital and departmental performance and responsibility standards.
  • Respond to telephone and/or verbal requests for hospital services and/or provide information to referents.
  • Arrange sand facilitate admissions to the hospital (inpatient and partial hospitalization) and record admission data in appropriate places .
  • Initiate and/or continue the involuntary admission process when necessary and follow through with involved hospital departments and community agencies.
  • Facilitates patient's admission to the hospital by meeting with the patient and/or family for orientation to hospital services and the admission process.

Qualifications

Intake Supervisor Requirements:
  • Masters degree in a mental health discipline.
  • State of Michigan License or eligible in respective field .
  • Experience in the mental health field.
