Intake Attorney

SUMMARY

Our client, a growing California plaintiff-side employment law firm, is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney to join its team as an Intake Vetting Attorney. This role focuses on evaluating prospective employment matters rather than active litigation, with no caseload, billable hours, or court deadlines. The ideal candidate has strong California employment law experience and excellent legal judgment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Evaluate prospective employment matters and determine whether to accept, refer, decline, or hold cases.

- Analyze wage & hour, PAGA, FEHA, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and accommodation claims.

- Communicate with prospective clients to clarify facts and assess case viability.

- Identify legal risks, statute-sensitive matters, and issues requiring escalation.

- Maintain accurate case evaluations and meet daily/weekly review goals.

- Help improve intake processes and case-vetting standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- J.D. from an accredited law school and active California Bar membership.

- 4+ years of California employment law experience; 5+ years preferred.

- Strong employment litigation experience; plaintiff-side experience preferred.

- Knowledge of FEHA, wage & hour, PAGA, wrongful termination, retaliation, and related California employment laws.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.

- Ability to evaluate high volumes of cases efficiently and accurately.

- Experience with Lead Docket, Filevine, Litify, or similar platforms preferred.
