Job Description
A New York City-based nonprofit organization is seeking an Intake Specialist (CASAC) to join their growing team in Manhattan.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
- Setting: In-person, residential program
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for admissions and referrals
- Review prospective clients for admission into residential programs
- Conduct phone and face-to-face screenings and complete LOCADTR assessments
- Gather client information and complete admission documentation
- Maintain waitlists, admission logs, discharge tracking, and census reporting while supporting outreach and referral relationship development
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in substance use disorder treatment, counseling, or behavioral health
- Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field
- Full CASAC certification
- Qualified Health Professional (QHP)
- Knowledge of DSM-V, substance use, and recovery services
- Experience working within an electronic health record (EHR) system
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience with admissions, referral coordination, or residential program intake
- Experience with insurance authorizations and benefits verification
- Experience with chart audits and quality assurance reviews
- Experience in community outreach or business development related to behavioral health services
