Vital Care of Northwest Alabama is a locally owned home infusion pharmacy in Florence, Alabama. Our mission is to improve the lives of patients through quality-driven, cost-effective infusion services.

The Position: 

\n

\n

The intake specialist handles onboarding new referrals including input into the computer system, communication with referral sources, patients, pharmacy staff, nursing staff and billing staff. The intake specialist handles prior authorizations and reauthorizations in coordination with physician offices, medical and pharmacy payers and health insurance companies. Additional duties include medical records collection, medical and pharmacy billing review, performance improvement documentation and other tasks.

Hours (generally): 8a-5p Monday - Friday

Qualifications: 

\n

\n

• \n
• Required: High school diploma or equivalent 
• \n
• Required: Experience with medical insurance benefits verification 
• \n
• Preferred: Experience obtaining prior authorizations 
• \n
• Required: Excellent interactive skills with employees, referral sources and consumers 
• \n
• Required: Good organizational skills 
• \n
• Required: Excellent telephone and customer service skills 
• \n
• Required: Excellent administrative and computer skills 
• \n
• Preferred: Alabama Pharmacy Technician License
• \n
• Preferred: 2+ years of experience
• \n
