The Role at a Glance
Lead planning, execution, and closeout for multiple low‑voltage projects
Core domains: structured cabling (Cat 5 & 6), CCTV, card access, fiber optics, and fire alarm systems
Own schedule, cost, quality, and safety—managing both internal crews and subcontractors
Maintain compliance with the National Electric Code (NEC)
Model decisive leadership, clear communication, and customer focus
Primary Responsibilities
Leadership
Inspire technicians and lead by example
Provide direction, remove obstacles, and set measurable team and personal goals
Oversee multiple jobs simultaneously while controlling subcontractor costs and timelines
Technical
Terminate and test Cat 5 & 6
Configure CCTV and access control (door strikes, card readers, power supplies, cameras)
Install, terminate, splice, and test fiber optics
Install and troubleshoot fire alarm devices, IDC/SLC circuits
Customer Relations
Deliver attentive service and high‑quality work to build lasting relationships
Communicate effectively with customers, electricians, suppliers, and subcontractors
Balance customer needs with profitability
Estimating
Read blueprints and electrical specifications to determine labor and materials
Build accurate estimates with Accubid; present and clarify project costs
Forecast cost impacts; initiate and pursue change orders as needed
