Job Description
The Metropolitan Council seeks consulting services of an Integration Software Engineer Contractor to assist with designing, developing, testing, and maintaining APIs and integration solutions. They collaborate with business partners, software engineers and other technology partners to APIs and integration solutions that make data available to systems and/or users such as software engineers.
• Work with Microsoft Azure Tools to deploy code to the Azure cloud environment
• Implement end-to-end API and Integration delivery, including requirements, design, development, documentation, testing, maintenance and support.
• Use Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 or higher, Visual Studio Code, and other development tools for custom software development and maintenance.
• Utilize GitHub for source control and GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines.
• Use Azure DevOps Boards to document user stories and tasks and coordinate work.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and distribution of standards and best practices for API and Integration development
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve integration performance and functionality issues.
• Use Terraform to create and update Azure resources.
• Partner with project managers to estimate effort, assign tasks, and track progress to meet timelines and realign project efforts when work is off course or solutions are not technically feasible.
• Conduct code reviews for quality, security, and adherence to development standards.
• Develop and maintain unit tests for custom-built APIs and Integrations.
• Write technical documentation for integration solutions and user acceptance test plans.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have to be accepted for consideration for this position.
Level of Education: B.S. or B.A. Degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field) and professional experience designing, developing, supporting, and maintaining API's and other Integration solutions.
Years of Experience: 5 + Experience as an Integration Software Engineer
Rest API, API Lifecycle: 5+ Experience working with REST APIs. Familiar with authentication using OpenID, JWT, bearer tokens, or other standard authentication schemes.
Azure Platform: 5 + Experience with Azure Integration code development (Azure function App with. Net8, Azure service bus, Azure API Management, Azure Data Factory etc.)
Other Integration platforms: Experience with Other integration tools and platforms, such as Boomi, MuleSoft, Workato, Apigee, Kafka etc.
C# .NET Core: 5+ Experience in development work in C#, .NET programming, Experience with other languages: Java, PowerShell, Bash scripts, Cron jobs
Integration Testing: 3+ Experience using Postman for testing APIs.
Terraform: Experience developing and deploying Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
OWASP Top 10 for API's: 5+ Experience implementing
GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions: 3+ Experience using GitHub Enterprise for source control and GitHub Actions for CI/CD Pipeline.
Functional / Non-Functional/Technical Documentation: 5 + Experience writing technical documentation including functional and technical requirements, analysis documents, design specifications, standards, and guide documents.
Methodology: 5 + Experience with Azure DevOps board for user stories, sprint planning and task tracking
Web Application Security: 5+ Experience in design of security for web APIs and integrations hosted in a cloud environment
Work Environment: Ability to work independently and in a team environment
