About the Position
This is a Part-time position with the Mississippi Department of Employment Security in Hinds CountyThis position will review and investigate claims for potential fraud and identity theft; process and investigate ID.me and Integrity Data Hub reports for fraud prevention and detection; correspond with applicants to obtain requested verification documents; evaluate the accuracy and completeness of the claimant's identity theft documents; investigate claims for improper payment, unreported earnings, and current work status; contact employers and claimants to obtain requested wage information for prompt and accurate determinations and eligibility decisions; assist customers with improper payment recovery, overpayment inquiries, and other related issues; ensure all investigations are conducted in accordance and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations and established MDES policies and procedures; organize and evaluate data from various sources, utilize research methods, interviewing skills, and technology to compile clear and concise investigative reports according to established procedures; carry out various support functions related to Integrity and Benefit Payment Control processes; take calls and provide accurate and satisfactory answers to individuals' inquiries and concerns; fulfill other duties as assigned by the Benefit Program Team Lead and/or Benefit Program Supervisor. All applicants must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass an extensive background check.
What youll need to be Successful
Good interpersonal/customer service skills. Good verbal/written communication skills, time management, and organizational skills; must possess outstanding computer skills, including proficiency with internet-based applications and email. Commitment to quality and accountability; must have a broad knowledge of MDES laws, regulations, programs, and agency policies.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experience. For the Division of Medicaid, an Associates Degree and 3-5 years of experience.
