Amsted Automotive, in Saginaw Michigan, as an Intellectual Property Intern by joining our ACE (Amsted Careers Experience) program and play an active role in managing NDAs, supporting vendor relationships, and helping keep critical projects moving. Upon successful completion of the internship, candidates may be considered for a part-time opportunity with Amsted Automotive.

Primary Function

Learn and conduct real hands-on legal experience by assisting our Senior Intellectual Property Manager with creating, processing, and archiving non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) with Vendors and Customers.  Route NDAs to proper resources when needed.  Ensure that all NDAs keep progressing through the system.  Monthly review for NDAs that need to be renewed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• • Vendors:
  • • Initiate NDAs by choosing the appropriate template and completing it in SharePoint.
    • Route NDAs through DocuSign for signatures.
    • Verify NDAs are progressing through signatures. When it is stalled, figure out why, and get it progressing again.
    • If edits are requested, process them appropriately through legal channels for approval.
    • Once the NDA is completed, assign all attributes and store in the appropriate area in SharePoint.
  • Customer:
  • • Save the NDA to SharePoint and route it to the Senior IP Manager for review (in Word format only).
    • Once reviews are complete, ensure all signatures are completed timely in accordance with signing instructions.
    • Check status of all NDAs periodically and send reminders to document owners/requestors if the NDA is stalled out.

Qualifications

Education:

• Currently a Junior or Senior student in college pursuing a major in pre-law, political science, general business, or a similar major.

Experience

• Some legal background is preferred or related business background in automotive.

Skills, Certifications, Abilities

• Experience with MS Office Suite is required: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• MS SharePoint experience is preferred.
• Proficient at reading and writing English.
• Good communication skills.
