A well-established and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Legal Assistant to support its Intellectual Property Practice Group. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with patent and trademark prosecution experience who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and enjoys working alongside a collaborative team.

Intellectual Property Legal Assistant

• Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Intellectual Property Practice Group
• Track and manage critical patent and trademark deadlines, including office actions and renewals
• Maintain and update client patent and trademark portfolios, reports, and status summaries
• Coordinate domestic and international patent and trademark filings, including PCT national phase entries and foreign correspondence
• Draft, edit, and proofread legal correspondence, declarations, engagement letters, and client communications
• Assist with billing, time entry, expense processing, conflict checks, client intake, and matter management
• Collaborate with attorneys, accounting, foreign associates, and support staff to ensure exceptional client service

Qualifications:

Minimum 3+ years of Intellectual Property legal assistant experience in a law firm or legal services environment
Strong knowledge of U.S. and international patent and trademark prosecution procedures
Experience tracking and calculating legal deadlines with exceptional accuracy
Excellent organizational, proofreading, and analytical skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with IP docketing software such as Anaqua, FoundationIP, or CPi preferred
Familiarity with USPTO electronic filing systems preferred
Undergraduate degree preferred
