Performs intermediate to advanced work involving the collection, analysis, and dissemination of crime, intelligence data to support investigations and supports intelligence led policing by identifying threats, criminal networks, and patterns of offender behavior. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Knowledge of criminal intelligence analysis methodologies, including link analysis, network analysis, and target profiling.
Understanding of intelligence validation, source reliability assessment, and analytical confidence standards.
Police records practices, crime classification standards, and applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations related to crime reporting and public records.
Operation of computers and standard office equipment, including databases, spreadsheets, GIS/mapping systems, and data visualization software.
Creating clear, concise, and accurate reports, maps, charts, dashboards, and other visual aids to communicate analytical findings.
Ability to assess threat likelihood and develop risk-based intelligence forecasts focusing on individuals, groups, or criminal enterprises.
Think critically, question assumptions, and avoid bias in data collection, analysis, and presentation.
Managing multiple tasks and deadlines, setting priorities, and adapting to shifting operational needs.
Collecting, compiling, auditing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources.
All appropriate criminal laws, including city ordinances, appropriate administrative laws, and case law.
Perform computer tasks effectively and maintain acceptable operational knowledge of standard software programs utilized by the department, including crime analysis programs databases, spreadsheets, statistical and graphics software systems, and data visualization software.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other city employees and the public.
